Well, DD finally rolled from her back to her belly, and was really cracking me up today rolling over... and over... and over. I'm so proud of her. She's also making farting noises with her mouth, which I'm really proud of, too, of course.
It's hard for me to imagine what I'd do next time, though I certainly hope there will be a next time, when we're ready. I was so happy with DD's birth and I tried to enjoy my pregnancy as much as I could... I think next time I'll just know better what to expect, and hopefully won't melt down those first few weeks as much.
DS has been trying to sit up on his own. If he's sitting upright supported by pillows he will lean forward and try to grab things and pull them closer. He's getting stronger and more steady with it everyday. Our challenge is still teething. It comes in spurts and I'm just ready for his two front teeth to finally cut through.
GTKY: I've actually talked to DH about this quite a bit. First and foremost I will try to relax and enjoy my pregnancy a little more. I also regret not breast feeding longer but I had no idea what to expect and I had absolutely no support since most of the women in my family FF. When things got really rough with the Mastitis, engorgement and DS's biting every time he latched everyone kept pushing me to just give him formula. I was so sleep deprived and sore that I just gave in. The next time I will be much more informed about pregnancy, labor, delivery and how to take care of a newborn and I think that will help me be a little more laid back.

If I hadn't had my husband really supporting me through those early weeks BFing, it would not have happened. I also had a few friends who BFed and had troubles, too, that I was able to call. I honestly feel like that's a huge barrier for a lot of women, just not having anyone to talk to about it and not knowing what to expect or how to deal.

Getting Mastitis twice was really the final straw that broke the camels back. I was so torn up from DS being such an aggressive eater that I would put off feeding as long as possible which made the engorgement worse and more painful. I would cry every time he latched on and combine that with the flu symptoms and fever from the Mastitis I just couldn't deal with it. DH tried to be supportive but every time he tried to encourage me to keep trying I would just get defensive and say he didn't understand how awful I felt etc. I think if I had women around me who had been there I would have benefited from it a great deal.

You did the best you could in your circumstances!! I was so close to caving. DD was super chompy. We saw an LC, though in retrospect it was SO expensive I'm not sure I would again.
H is working on sitting up by herself too! She loves being on her belly and rolls to her belly every chance she gets!lol She was babbling this week and making MMMM sounds! I thought she might say Mama for a minute haha. I was able to get it on video on my phone, it was so cute! Wish I could share her videos!
I really hope there is a next time. Actually DH and I talked about it again tonight and are going to stop preventing the little bit we are now this summer. What is really holding me back is wanting to lose more weight before getting pregnant. I've only lost half the weight I gained It's just not coming off as easy and I am having a hard time finding a lot of time to workout since I have been back to work. I also agree that I really want to BF longer and try harder. I was just exhausted and too worried about H not getting enough. DH was a support but just not enough for me.

Over here DD has started to get quite a little attitude! Like little baby screams if she wants something. Could the 4 month wakeful shenanigans be responsible for this behavior?!
I wouldn't change a thing if we decided to do it again. With DS, I was only 18, and I had NO idea what to expect. This time around, I really tried to enjoy being pregnant and plan for child birth. DD was a week late but she came all on her own 2days before our scheduled induction. I couldn't have had a better experience.

Likewise! I know how to do it...count calories and workout. I just don't have the willpower or energy for either. I've thought about wearing G while I use my elliptical. But just thinking about it doesn't burn calories unfortunately :]

Milestones: Leo slept for over 4 hours stretch last night, woohoo! We were getting up every 2-3 hours so I feel so refreshed the last couple of days. He is starting to act more like an infant and not a newborn now too. He's awake for longer and is so interested in everything. His little eyes don't stop moving looking at everything.
Challenges: The early morning 4am-7am is tough for us. L is asleep but makes very loud grunting/moaning noises (louder than the typical ones he has while sleeping). It sounds like he is in pain. We always think he is awake but he sleeps through it just moaning and stretching. Not sure if its gas or what but its been happening everyday at this time. Definitely can't sleep through it but not sure how to help him.
GTKY: I think for my next pregnancy I will be sure to slow down and appreciate every minute of it. It will likely be our last one. Also, I won't freak out about my milk coming in and breastfeeding. I have learned to just relax and do the best I can. Things worked out so well and I am loving BF. I am only 5 weeks out so I'm not sure what else I will change but I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this little one.

Yea, I will probably "grow out of it" soon lol. Especially because this is such a small, close knit board. Things have been going well, very busy, having a hard time getting on here to post. I think the mups is actually smiling at me some. It may be a little early but when I coo in his face and kiss his nose, most of the time he coos back at me and smiles - but it could also be well-timed gas
Dh and I aren't sure we will have anymore at this point. I always thought I would have 2, if not 3 kids, but being 35+, having IF issues (3 surgeries and 20k for one baby) and how unbelievably traumatic his birth was for us, we are not sure we can go through all of that again - it was really hard on me and my DH. However, I never say never. I will not try to go completely natural again (i.e. no monitoring, no hospital, etc.) or use the same birthing center/midwives, their negligence almost cost me the life of my child. That I know will be different!

Hi ladies! DD continues to be an easy baby. My only issue with her is she wants to nurse or suckle more frequently between 5pm and 10pm. My boobs are so deflated and sore by bedtime!
My new challenge is that DH just started working as a temp at his old job. It is a 1 to 11 job 4 days a week. I'm with two kids alone during that time. Yesterday I was so exhausted I put DS to bed and walked out of his room quickly with just a wave "good night ." This is just temporary until I go back to work which will likely be March 4th.
I don't plan to have more kids. I would say what I am trying to do differently this time is to be more patient with both kids. I am trying very hard not to yell at my 3 year old all day long.

Hi ladies! I had an actual response typed out but the bump ate it, so I guess we'll go with the abbreviated version.
DS is sick again, poor kid, so he's kicking on a blanket on the floor next to me. I'm very grateful for a laptop and an understanding boss.
He has realized that he doesn't have to stay on his tummy if he doesn't want to, so if I put him down for tummy time he grins and rolls onto his back. I was a little worried that he's only rolled back to front a few times, but DH claims it's a sign of intelligence - why would he roll onto his tummy if he doesn't like being there? It made me giggle and snap out of mommy-worry for now. DS also loves saying "Bvvvv! Bvvvv!" constantly and is really fascinated with his toys.
GTKY: If we have a 3rd, it will be our last, so I want to enjoy the pregnancy as much as possible.

Any milestones this week? Funny stories? Challenges? DD is finally back to her birth weight which means we get to keep EBFing (if she didn't gain enough last week we were going to need to re-evaluate). She also is more alert.
GTKY: What will you do differently next time, if you plan on having more children? If you're not planning to, is there something you wish you'd done? It is too early for me to answer this one.

Milestones: DD said her first real word - Dada! She doesn't really say it purposefully yet, as in looking at DH and calling him Dada, but we're still considering that her first word. Also, she's started standing on her own while holding on to things. Like, I'll stand her up beside the baby gate and she'll hold on and stand without my help.
Today is DD's 7 month birthday!
Challenges: This week it's been all me related issues. My brain feels like it's operating at 50% and I keep forgetting things that I'm supposed to do. Like, this post has taken me over a half hour to write because I keep forgetting what I want to say! Ugh. Also, the office building were I work is being remodeled, so my pumping room keeps getting moved around. Currently I'm left to pump in my car because there is just no other place to do.
GTKY: We'd like to have one more kid, if we are so blessed. Next time I'd really like to try to enjoy my pregnancy more. PgAL brain got the best of me a lot of times while I was pg with DD. I'd also like to work out more and stay active. I was too scared to work out a lot with DD and I gained almost 50lbs because of it. I'm still struggling to loose that last 10lbs.

Hi! I haven't participated in this check-in before but I am hoping to participate often!
Miles started socially smiling last week and it has been amazing. I adore watching his face light up! I think it's one of my favorite milestones.
GTKY: We were all set on this being our last (since we have had 4, 3 surviving) at this point, but once Miles entered our lives we have decided to keep the option open. I almost fell over when my DH told me that he wouldn't mind another one a couple of weeks after Miles was born. Throughout the whole pregnancy he kept talking about how he wants to get the "snip". ;-) We are both suckers for kids (I now nanny and was a teacher) and DH teaches 2nd grade, so I guess it's in our DNA to have a bunch of kids around us.
Crystal, with DS, my SO's family were all pro formula, and it was so easy to cave into. The first month or two of your baby's life are a blur of sleep deprivation. Well, DD finally rolled from her back to her belly, and was really cracking me up today rolling over... and over... and over. I'm so proud of her. She's also making farting noises with her mouth, which I'm really proud of, too, of course.

Good evening ladies!
I've only lost half the weight I gained
It's just not coming off as easy and I am having a hard time finding a lot of time to workout since I have been back to work. I also agree that I really want to BF longer and try harder. I was just exhausted and too worried about H not getting enough. DH was a support but just not enough for me.

Theresa, I hope your LO is well soon!
I have only lost about half the pg weight too :[ Aaaaand I was up maybe 15 to 20 lbs when I got of since I'd let things go a bit after my mc. I have a lot of work to do.
And I look forward to you ladies having more babies!
Because they'll be STINKIN' ADORABLE.
Exactly :]
Thanks! I'm exactly the sameup 15lbs after the mc too : I have lots if work to do too! If you find sumthin great that helped or gave you some encouragement please let me know!!

I love seeing H, she is beautiful. I saw that you and your DH might stop preventing in the summer, that is so exciting!!

M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

DD cluster fed in the evening too! Lots of lanolin and even some cold packs on my bbs felt pretty amazing.
GTKY: What will you do differently next time, if you plan on having more children? If you're not planning to, is there something you wish you'd done? It is too early for me to answer this one.

4/9/16 DS was born

That's great news!

It is so awesome that you feel so good about your birth experience!
That's awesome on the BFing!! Keep it up, mama!
So fabulous!! Way to go, DD!!
