Ugh. Post fail.

I asked for advice on my other BMB, but it didn't help. One person responded with a really great idea, then most people commented on it being a really great idea, which it was...except they all clearly misread my post. So maybe you ladies can help.

I have my anatomy scan on Thursday. DH is gone until March. The ONLY way I communicate with him is by phone either calling or texting. I can email, too, but he can't check that as often, and it's kind of pointless since I can just text and get a fast response.

So I want to do something more creative than text saying "it's a boy/girl!" So far, my only ideas are to take a picture of myseld with a pink or blue ribbon around my belly, or take a pic of a "little brother/sister" onesie. Someone suggested taking a pic of ds with a pink or blue heart.

Any other creative ideas? And just to reiterate, it needs to be something I can do on the phone, either verbally, by text, or by photo. That's what they missed on my other post.

Re: Ugh. Post fail.

  • There are some shirts that I saw that said big brother and little brother or sister (which ever it is)  I think I was on Zully???? Maybe I could be out of my mind on the site.  But that would be cute to have your LO where a top like that and send it to him.

Other than that I like the idea of having your LO holding the coloured heart or ballon

  • When we announced on FB that we were having a boy, I took a picture of Ella holding a "It's a Boy" Balloon. Not only was it cute but Ella LOVED the balloon. Lol

  • I had to giggle a little at your post fail when I was reading earlier from my phone ;)

I like the idea of you texting him a pic, and including DS in the announcement.

What you got DS a big brother shirt, then got the baby a little brother/sister onesie And you could take a pic of the "three" of you, with you holding the onesie up over your belly?

    For sure include LO.. I like the baloonnbsp;
Or you could get a video not sure if you can txt video of LO eating a 'gender reveal' cupcake?nbsp; So H has to watch with anticiaption as LO rips it up... Actually. then you shouldn't know either and you can have the video of You finding out, from LO and send to H... that make sense?nbsp; Can you Skype on your phone?
That's really cute. Not sure if skype will work though since our cell coverage is so sketchy. I SHOULD have real internet by Friday, so maybe I could skype from my laptop. I hadn't even thought about skype. Thanks! That's why I asked on here. I knew there was something I hadn't thought of.

But if anyone eats a cupcake, it will be me! Lol

  • If you want to add to the surprise, maybe you could have him text you (or someone else) with a code words for "girl" and "boy". You wouldn't look at the code words yourself but you would show them to the tech. That way, when your a/s is done, you could call your H and tell him the code word and then HE would be the one to tell you what the sex of your baby is.

I know it's not exaclty what you're looking for, but I thought you might like the idea anyways.

  • You could spam him with pictures of either blue or pink things until he picked up on it?

Have you guys discussed names yet? If so, you could casually drop the baby's name during conversation "Oh yah, you should have seen little Mikey doing back flips in there"

If it's another boy, you could refer to yourself as "Queen in house of blue". If it's a girl, you could say something about the balance of power being restored. Or maybe that would be too subtle?

We haven't discussed names at all because I'm kind of terrified of what DH will suggest if it's another boy. DS's name is soooo rare, which is why I never mention it on here. Otherwise, I'd totally use the name in casual conversation.

  • Does your EDD fall around a particular holiday?  My cousin did a really cute gender announcement photo where her 2-year-old was holding a sign that said "I'm getting a baby sister for Valentine's Day!"  I thought that was fun, made for a great photo.
