Hey ladies, I have a scheduled c section in ten days, and I just had a question for those who've been through it before... Did you want other family members in the room while it was happening? I'm not a first time mom, but natural child birth is a lot different. Obviously my husband will be there, but what about his mother? Is that weird? Is it something people watch?
Re: Family in the room?
Oh okay, thank you ladies!! Like I said, I'm new to the c section thing, I'm guessing at my next appointment (which is my last) my OB will tell us that.

One person, my FI. Surgeries are rather delicate and they gave FI a stool and a run down of what to do should he feel light headed. It was a small OR so where he was positioned he could have easily taken out a lot of expensive medical equipment should he have passed out or panicked during the procedure.
And like PP said, maybe a mother isn't the best to have in the room. My mom had 3 CS and was quite squeamish at the thought of anyone cutting into her baby girl.
This. DH went to the nursery with DS, so I'm not sure if he could've come back to recovery or not.
For my delivery, you had to go threw a little room (where they wiped down lo and weigh him and stuff) to get to the OR. My hubby was the only one allowed in the OR, but my mom and sister got to stand in the doorway between the little room and the hallway. They got to watch lo get cleaned off, take pictures, and follow him down the hall to the nursery.
