Re: Tips and Tricks Tuesday

  • I found a really interesting year-long savings idea that I'm going to implement.  In week one, you tranfer $1 to your savings account, week 2, $2, week 3, $3 and so on, for 52 weeks.  By the end of the 52 weeks, you'll have put $1,378 into savings!

Also, a quick and easy toddler tub paint - cool whip and food coloring.

  • I bought a small coloring book at the dollar store and I rip out one page and tape to LOs high chair tray for him to Colorado. It stays put that way and he colors longer instead of just ripping paper

I've been doing this too! Great minds must think a like. I set a timer  on my phone to go off every week so that I actually remember to transfer it.

My tip is a toy rotation. We're only on week two of it but it's been so nice. G seems to be playing with her toys more often and the house isn't a total disaster constantly. That part alone is worth it for the reduced stress.

  • When poaching eggs in an egg poacher, don't forget the lid..

Here I am cooking Olivia breakfast and I can't figure out why the eggs aren't cooking on the top 20 mins later.. Oh duh lid!!!

I do this too, but just with plain blank paper.  Then I tape the scribbles to the fridge.

  • I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but one way to clear out any pesky residue in the straws for the straw cups it to use a pipe cleaner (or two, twisted together).  It works wonders!

So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"
