My son is 15 almost 16 months old. He takes his diaper off when he pees or poops. He knows when he's peeing because he holds his diaper and says "uh oh." He'll even bring yoou a diaper when he takes it off. Is it too early to train him? I know most say it won't work until he can tell you when he needs to go but he learns quick is why I'm asking..
Thanks in advance!
Re: potty training
Even after she goes i'll sit her on the potty while i grab her diaper to change her and such. She has really good potty habits though as far as scheduled poop lol.. so i think that will make it easier in the long run.. we are just playing it by ear for now. I say it can't hurt!
I would say go for it. Don't push it, but follow the lead. At 19-20 months my son started saying "peep" right before he would pee, so we got a potty seat and started putting him on it and had luck a few times with him going. Then he kind of got disinterested and jumped right off, so we let it go, and he stopped telling us. Then this past weekend he started grabbing at his diaper and pants a lot. At the end of church on Sunday, he said "Mommy, Potty." So I figured what the heck, and took him to the bathroom. Sure enough he peed on the toilet at church. For "sh*ts and giggles" (ha) we got went to Target and got him big boy underpants to see if would inspire more. Sure enough, the rest of Sunday he peed 2 more times and pooped once on the toilet. I was in shock. Then yesterday, 3 pees, 2 poops and 1 accident. I'm blown away and proud of my lil dude. So, yes, they can do it early. Follow his cues.
