  I love just Kate! If I was having a girl that would be her name. It's simple, classic, and just beautiful. Cute as a little girls name and a great name for an adult.

  My name is Kathryn but no one has ever called me that and it can get annoying correcting people.  Also people assume my nickname is Kathy.  My parents decided to name me Kathryn instead of Katie because my mom said, "what if she becomes an ambassador one day?"  I think if you'll never call her by the formal name, just name her Kate and give her a strong middle name.

  Some friends of mine just named their girl Kate. That's it. I love it. My name is Kathleen and I've always gone by Katie but DH and my dad both call me Kate.

  my real name is Kathleen (i hate it, much too formal for me) friends call me Katie (my whole life) and family calls me Kate
