Off to teach

We are doing an outreach at a semi-local school today and I am really excited! We will be teaching kids from 4 different grades. I still need to pick up a plant and a bug; I held off because we were supposed to get a big snow storm which luckily never materialized. It will be a very fun day!

    LOL!  We have a fun time, I sing to them, throw candy and stuffed animals at them, it's a blast.  I miss it.

    I decided not to go with the bug because I really hate bugs. I am going to pick up some night crawlers or tubifex worms instead as they are less creepy to me.

    I am doing a lesson on the Mars rover and searching for signs of past or present life. The kids will go through multiple stations and decide if the items are alive, never been alive, or used to be alive.  We have some tricky things in there like a piece of a 100% cotton T-shirt and nylon rope along with the obvious plant and bug (or worms).

    Chunstad, thanks for the suggestion! I did get them a bunch of NASA swag along with a poster and space shuttle for the science classroom. I might have to grab candy too if I have time.
