Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Rash

I noticed some tiny red bumps on LO during her bath yesterday. They are very patchy/scattered on her chest and stomach... nowhere else. And you really have to look to see them. Any ideas?

I thought it may possibly be a heat rash, because I ended up overdressing her yesterday. I thought it was colder where we were going and she got very warm, but it's still there this morning. It's not any worse though.

She started oatmeal cereal on Saturday. I had thought that could possibly be the problem, but wouldn't it come up immediately and not wait for days?

I'm thinking of stopping it for a couple of days just to see if it makes a difference.

  • My DS had the same thing. The doc said it was from too much soap in the bath which can dry out the skin. We are using a VERY sensitive skin wash and only take baths every other day or every two days. Plus Aquaphor lotion. The combo of both has helped immensely. It's all gone :)

  • My LO had this last week...the doctor said it was a viral rash- not itchy or bothersome to him, just like tiny little goosebumps that were red- they go white when you press on them. I was told it's common for babies around this age- it just means that there is a virus in their body and they are building up immunity to it- they might get sick or be fussy..or just get a rash
