I was warned about it from a woman at work, but curiosity got the best of me. I was so upset. I really liked Sybil Before I watched it, I was confused about a random call from my mom yesterday asking about how I was feeling and if my blood pressure was okay. It made sense after watching the episode.
What I didn't get was... there were two physicians in the room. Why didn't they TRY to help her? It was obviously too late, but it was strange how they just stood back and watched. So sad.
Oh my gosh, I am SO glad someone posted about this! I knew something sad happened because of some of my friends' reactions on Facebook, but I didn't want any spoilers so I didn't ask what was so sad, and I watched it after work yesterday. I was absolutely CONVINCED that the "heartbreaking" event I had heard so much about before the season started airing here in the US was going to be Matthew dying (presumably in a firey car crash, since in one of the recent episodes they made a big deal of pointing out how safe automobile travel is), since the actor that plays him is leaving the show at the end of the season, but I guess this is actually what they were talking about.
Oh, I'm glad someone spoiled me. I missed it on Sunday night and was going to watch it tonight...Maybe I'll just skip this episode...

My super all about me birth story:
Then: Fraternal twins born at 26 weeks in 1983. Me: 640 grams. Brother: 840 grams. Family kept watch in the NICU for 5 months before being allowed to go home. On oxygen for a year and a half after being released.
Now: Me: PhD student and married. Brother: Lawyer and married.
Dad's wedding speech: Thank you to all the family who stood watch and prayed for our children's survival. Well now the little scrawny chicken is married. Who would've thought? (Thanks dad for making me laugh and cry at the same time).

Besides Anna making a little progress with Bates' case, you really don't need to watch this episode if you know what happens. Those two story lines were the most important IMO.
