Ahhh! DH's 30th bday is Feb 27 and that's been on my mind! I know invites for DD's 1st will need to go out soon after! I'm thinking Hungry, Hungry, Caterpillar. Cute stuff on pintrest!

Am I a bad parent for the fact that we probably won't do much of anything? I walways felt like first birthday parties were more for parents, since the kids won't remember, and inviting people seems like asking them to give us stuff (sine he'll have no idea what's going on).
For DD we had family in town, but with DS it's just going to be us. I just can't see the point of inviting our friends over for a bit to-do.
We are doing a Mickey and Minnie themed party. It will be at our house with family attending! I'm so excited. I already started pinning things on pinterest, and looking to order some stuff!
It will be a fishing theme and there are tons of ideas online for this so it should be easy. I just ordered the invites and I started on some of the decorations. Can not wait!!
Location: at home-enough room to have the party here.
Theme: Where the Wild Things Are- it's his favorite bedtime story. I even found a Max wolf suite for him to wear and I am getting him the covered radio flyer wagon which I will fashion into Max's private boat for photo booth purposes. Very excited!

I'm still debating on a theme...it's between "You are my Sunshine" or "Look Whoo's Turning One". The party will be at our house, with just our immediate families there.
Micah's birthday is only 7 weeks away. That's crazy. We're going to bump his party to 2 weeks later. We're going with a monster (nice/fun monsters, not scary) theme, but there won't be very many people there. We're getting LO a big boy swing set (with a little boy swing), and we were hoping that his cousins could get some use out of it at the part, so we're moving it to the end of March, fully aware that it could still be snowing. I've seen some cute bean bag toss/photo prop ideas that would be easy/cheap/fun for the kids and adults on pinterest.
We are doing Peter Rabbit. I am renting out a small building in town to do it in considering my DHs family is HUGE and they all have to be invited otherwise they will be highly offended. Fine by me though -- it'll be fun!!! Going to decorate the tables with fake grass, little veggie patches and have a sign leading into the party room that says, "Welcome to Mr. McGregor's Garden!" I'm excited...can ya tell?
