He hits me all the time! If I'm laying on the floor he comes up and smacks me. A lot of times he smacks my face. And I'm really tired of it.
It seems like saying no is really going nowhere with this. The other morning I woke up to him smacking me in the
Face! Wth!? I assume it's just a phase... And I hope it passes soon.
Re: My 11 month old bully...
Exactly. I wonder if I should kind of ignore it? He LOVES to hear me tell him that's not nice. I don't think he's trying to be mean.
But tonight he had one of his toys, and I saw him comin at me and I RAN!!! No, I really didn't and I'm just kidding.. But I was afraid he was going to hit me with it so I diverted his attention. That seemed to work.
we talked about this in my baby class. The teacher recommends taking the child's hands pull them away from you and say hands are for hugging. Then walk away (take a breather). Do this while being neutral and not giving them a reaction that's what they respond to at this age.
My doctor told us to ignore these types of behaviors. DD doesn't hit us, but she hits herself, and when she's having a tantrum, she hits her own head on the hard floor!
It's kind of hard to ignore when it looks like she's hurting herself, but having followed his advice, she has stopped doing it.
