What's your dose of stims? My baseline was today and they put me on 450iu Follistim/150iu Menopur, a higher dose of the former than I've ever been on before. They are really gunning me! It will be interesting to see if I get more follies. But my problem in the past hasn't been getting enough eggs (though I certainly wouldn't mind more), it's been their maturity (which is really, I think, a quality issue). Anyone know if more stims can lead to sh!ttier eggs? I'm a little worried.
Re: Another question for my EPP comrades
My last RE when I was trying with my OEs definitely believed that high stims fried the eggs. I got the same number of eggs on high and low stims(less than3). We knew we'd never get more but hoped the quality would be better. It was marginally in my case but not enough to make a difference.
Unfortunately some docs insist on high stims and some on low stims. I think the low stim proponents tend to work more with high FSH women.

Everyone Welcome!
Hi, Harley. Even third-hand stories give me hope!
That was the NJ doc, right? I think my doc's theory is that if I get more eggs I have a better chance to get, say, two or three mature eggs instead of one -- and my AFC is generally a bit higher than my mature follie count, so it's theoretically possible I could get more. But I know I've heard the fried eggs concern voiced on these boards in the past. I really worry I'm working at cross-purposes with quality. We'll see pretty soon, I guess.
Hi, Jenn. I was so happy for you when I saw that you were able to get a good quantity of mature eggs on your 2nd IVF (even if many were still not mature) -- it means there's hope for you yet! Good luck as you decide what to do next.
i am on the same protocol as you this time as I was with my last IVF. Last one i got 7 eggs, 5 mature, 4 fertilized, and ended up with two great perfect blasts to transfer. I did indeed get a BFP-- but ended in a suspected ectopic (yes, even with IVF ugh) so, i did end up with good quality on a mega high dose of everything, even though there is something going on with my lack of response as far as # of eggs.
