Rubino Group Summit, NJ- Reviews?

Hello all,

On the hunt for a new practice. I have been researching the Rubino Group. They have offices in West Orange, Summit, Bayonne and Clark. Has anyone heard anything about them? Also anyone deliver at Overlook hospital? How was the experience there?

    I go to Dr. Fox at Rubino he just joined up with the Rubino group about a year ago.  I have been going to him for over 12 years now he no longer delivers babies but I am still going to him for most of my prenatal visits b/c I have been going to him for so long.  However I am sure I will see several other doctors through out my pregnancy.  I go to the Clark office since that is where Dr. Fox has always been location.  I have never been to the other offices.

    I know they deliver out of overlook or St. Barnabas in Livingston.

    i see jacqueline saitta in that group. i go to the summit office and have been to the west orange location too.

    ive heard of ppl going to check out overlook and werent happy and ppl would prefer st barnabas. i am going to deliver in st barnabas. ive heard better things ab them.

     That's good to know I wasn't sure which one I should go to.

    Love Dr. Saittia.....I am going to miss her as I am moving and have to switch doctors.She always takes the time to answer all questions and you can ask her anything. She is almost like family to us!!!

    She didn't deliver my son (Dr. Cherrian did) because she wasn't on that day, but the next day we ran into her in the NICU checking on my son.

     I wish we weren't moving and she could deliver my next baby in July!

    On con is there is usually a wait at all your appointments, but you get used to the wait and build in extra time.

    I see rubino now. Comfortable and professional doctor. However I heard a nightmare story at barnabas hospital. I'm ruling out overlook too so will need a different doctor who works out of morristown. Remember it is best to find the better hospital over the better doctor. Can't count on the fact that doc will be on call.

    Contrary to everyone above, I absolutely hated the group & would never recommend them.  The office staff was rude & not understanding of other medical issues.  The doctor was impossible to get in touch with to get test results & did not explain things or answer questions.  After seeing them once & then having to go back for follow-up testing, I ended up sending my results to my old GYN out of state to get answers & have not been back since.  I am currently using another practice where I spent 30 minutes sitting across from the doctor reviewing my history at his desk in my clothes not with a paper cloth covering me in an exam room for 5 minutes & can't be happier with them.

    I saw Dr. Abesaus.  Not only was my problem with the doctor but with the nurses & receptionists in the W. Orange facility.

    I go to the Bayonne office location and see Dr. Kessel. The doctor and staff are easy to get in touch with and there is never a long wait for your appointment. Also, I always get any questions I have, answred thoroughly, and never feel as if I am being rushed. They have hours to fit any needs, as I usually book my appointments so that I can go after work.

    I saw Dr. Jessel a few months ago for a regular check up. He was ok, although a bit awkward. My MiL sees Saitta and loves her. I have an appointment with Dr. Patel in about two weeks. She is new to the group, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. The office staff have been very helpful and considerate when I call. I like the fact that they have an office where I live (Bayonne) and near my job (Clark.)

    I'm currently looking to switch OBGYN as mine only delivers out of JFK which I heard was terrible.  Curious why do people discount Overlook as an option?

    I used to go to the Rubino group.  Overall, I had a great experience with this group.  The only reason I switched was I wanted an OB who delivered at a hospital closer to home.  Dr. Kessel delivered my youngest at Overlook.  He had great bedside manner especially at the delivery.  And I liked Overlook, the nurse and staff that were there at the time were very attentive and kind.  This was December 2009.
