UPDATED: Update to my friend.

Sorry to keep anyone hanging. Most recent update is not great. As of this am, they are looking at delivering via c sect tomorrow. She had to be taken off magnesium, which was keeping labor at bay, due to fluid buildup in her lungs. I'm not sure of all the specifics but she is with an amazing MFM team and I trust every decision they make is well informed and in both her and the babies' best interest. She's sad, scared, exhausted, and so nervous. She is 24w today and has had both rounds of steroid shots, so that's a positive at least. Please keep the prayers coming. They need them so much over the next 24 hours. If I hear any more news, I'll update within this thread as long as it's still towards the top of this page.

UPDATE as of 9pm EST:

Not good at all Looks like the babies are coming tonight. My heart breaks for them and I am so hopeful that these babies are as strong as their momma and not only survive but thrive. Please keep this family in your prayers. If by some miracle, her labor slows or stops, I will let everyone know. They've got a LONG road ahead of them.

I am so sorry to hear this update. I had the same reaction to magnesium sulfate myself. There are so many NICU success stories, and I am sure they have a plan in place to stabalize those babies as soon as they come out. Lots of prayers headed their way. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Thank you for the update HA. I can't imagine what your friend is going through right now, emotionally or physically. I'm sure, as you said, the MFM team has been making the best decisions for her and her babies.

I will be thinking and praying for your friend and those precious little babies. I will be hoping for a positive outcome from tomorrow/s c/s.

I will certainly be thinking of her and her babies HA.

I know all situations are different, but a friend of a friend had her twin boys at 24 weeks in September and they are doing very well now at 5 months.

I will be thinking of and pulling for those precious babies!
