I currently drive a Chevy HHR, which is a POS. Our first baby is due early June. We hope to have a new car by then, but we also had hoped to have it done by now, too, and that obviously aren't happened. My plan into find a carseat that works in our current vehicle, but also seems to work in our new, anticipated vehicle. We are hoping for a new Subaru Outback or Forrester, but are also considering the Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav-4. Any thoughts, either on car seats or my method for finding one? I've been searching car-seat.org for info. FWIW, we think we like the Chicco Keyfit
Re: Anticipating a new car....
Thanks-that is helpful. I feel like what we have is so small, compared to what we're looking at, so we should be ok.

BuyBuyBaby does this too!
Go to the store and try it out! See what fits in your car and what you can easily get in and out.
Hell, test drive the car you are going to buy to the store and d it that way.
If you buy a Subaru, what year would you be getting? I have a 2003 Outback LL Bean and the Graco Snugride fit fine in my car - we used it comfortably for 10 months. The newer models are roomier so I think just about any infant seat you'll get will be fine.
