Before I begin, note that there will be *SPOILERS* so please don't continue reading if you haven't seen last night's episode!!
Anyone on here watch? I was SOBBING, especially when Cora was in the room alone with Sybil and said to Mary that she needed a little more time to say goodbye to her baby.
I had a c-section and count my blessings that I am living during a time when it is so much safer for both mother and baby to give birth.
Re: Downton Abbey *Spoilers*
My husband and I were both shocked. I think I had both hands clamped over my mouth for ages when she died. It definitely made us think of my birth story and the emergency C-section I ended up having when the birth center route didn't work out.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the baby going forward. I hate to think they're going to try to add 'cuteness' to the show.
I loved that even Thomas cried. I dislike him, but sometimes you feel for the guy.
Now if they could just end the whole story line with Bates in prison.
Yeah, Thomas is awful but I really felt for him at that moment.
The Bates storyline is the WORST. It better be going somewhere unexpected, because whenever his face comes onscreen I groan. For whatever reason, the writers are in love with him.
Yep totally over the bates thing its dragging out way too long and his character just comes across as aragant.
(Hopping over from the August 2013 board simply bc I did a search to see if there was a post about this week's episode somewhere already.)
All I could think was - you want me to have a baby after THAT?! And of course bawled my eyes out for the last 20 minutes of the show and then some.
I also love that Thomas cried - I agree that he is such a snake but I love how this show makes you feel for ALL the characters good and bad.
The Bates story line has indeed been going on for way too long. I'm bummed because it was the best part of season 2 but now it's sort of this side story that needs to go away.
