My kid is spoiled. Seriously for Christmas we asked for clothes, a wagon and musical type instruments.
He got enough clothes for 3 children. We got the wagon (it's awesome) and we now can start a band with all the musical instrument toys we received.
Since my DS invites have gone out everyone is asking for ideas for gifts. I've suggested toys and books. But of course everyone wants specifics.
Any specific toys you want for your children? I'm at a loss.
Re: Toys
Maybe look at toys suggested for older kids, like 18 + months maybe so you can have a steady rotation of "new" toys that are age appropriate? Blocks, bath-tub crayons or foam letters, numbers, etc. My son loves his bathtub toys! What about shoes - suggest the next size up so you always have some that fit? Maybe a water table? Since spring/summer is right around the corner, a water and sand table would be a good idea? You don't have to do sand - just do a water one. What about beach toys like pails, shovels, etc. so you can do beach trips or trips to the park?
Not sure if any of this is good but hoping it gives you some ideas.
books are a great idea. You can never have enough because you will get sick of reading the same thing over and over again! My SIL is a librarian and she always picks out great stuff but when I ask other family members for books I've learned that I should be specific because I'm kind of picky and have sent annoying books to good will!
You can always ask for toys & clothes for the next age group too. Since he probably won't get gifts again until Christmas so maybe somthing that's for an 18 month old and you can pack it away until he's ready for it. I hate trying to find winter coats/snowpants/boots. One year my mom got DS1 stuff for the next year and it was great not ot have to worry about that and that stuff is all on sale right now.
I'm lame and always ask for diapers, wipes.... and so far I've got DS2 a pair of slippers and some lotion and shampoo.
I asked for 18 month summer clothes. No one is interested in that. I predict we will get more random toys, but have a hard time complaining about people buying DS stuff, but then again, it seems that I just DID complain....
Other ideas...I have asked for the Little People car thing (it's tall and has winding paths the cars go down) and a new Castle Climber for outside. Love the water table idea, we also asked for that.
We have enough "things" in our home as well. My mom is getting us a zoo membership, it is around $75 and we can visit the zoo and other aquariums all year long. Also how about gymboree classes or gymnastics?

The Little People Zoo Talkers set has been a hit here. Yes, it is a pain because it only has three animals, and you have to buy the others separately, but if you look around you can find them cheaper ($3 each at Meijer vs. $6 each at TRU).
