Baby Names

Twin boys names

Hi all! We are due in May and are still having difficulty coming up with boy names (we thought we were having a girl and SURPRISE! twin boys) Here is what we have come up with:

Alexander Porter

Aaron Christopher

I always wanted a boy named Porter(its my maiden name and saw it as a homage to my late father). My hubby loves the name Alexaander, but thinks the names need to "go" together for the two boys so prefers Porter as a middle name. What do you guys think?

Success after 3 years of trying! Alexander and Porter born May 3, 2013....

Re: Twin boys names

  • I think Porter and Alexander are a fine sibset for twins. Twin names dont need to start with the same letter, there is no rule for that! And that way you both get to use your favourite name :)

  • I think Alexander Porter is a good strong name.  I personally do not like Aaron for a boy.  Christopher is a good name though.

I also don't think twin names need to be matchy.  I think the style should be similar but not too matchy.  Pick 2 names you like.  For example:  Alexander and Nicholas.

ETA:  I just remembered that Nicky and Alex are Uncle Jesse & Rebecca's twin boys' names in Full House, ha.

  • I might be in the minority but I actually dislike matchy names for twins. That includes using the same first initial, dressing them alike, ect. They might be twins but they are still individuals.

I would use your favorite names. Porter and Alexander.

  • I think you are good either way.  Those "A" names are not that matchy IMO!

  • I really like using your MN Porter as a FN. I would push DH on that one. A good friend used her MN Steward for her son and I think it is really nice to honor your family that way.

I am also not a fan matchy twin names.

I think pairing Alexander or Aaron with Porter are good sib  set names.

I do not think you are in the minority. :) This is one of my pet issues actually, haha. I have a twin sister, and thankfully we were not given matchy names... there are plenty of things twins will share in life, their names don't need to be added to the list.

  • I think them!

  • I like Porter and Alexander/Aron. I prefer for twins to not start with the same letter. No everyone agrees though. good luck!
