It usually involves a nice meal (cooked by moi), and maybe flowers and a card. We may surprise each other with a gift, but that's not really the norm for us.
I will probably get the girls a little Valentine's treat (like a heart shaped chocolate and some stickers), but that's it.
Pizza, either to go or eat in. If we take it home it is paper plates so little clean up. I don't want to fight the resturant crowds. And no gifts usually, DH's birthday is Jan and mine is March so if we did V-day too that would be 4 months of gifts with Christmas, why be mean to our bank account like that.
We usually use it as an excuse to go out on a date and get some parents to come babysit. But we don't go on actual V Day, we will go the weekend before or after to beat the crowds. We used to do gifts, but not in the last couple of years. My "gift" is a dinner that I don't have to cook or clean up after, and DH's "gift" is that he can have a few drinks and I'll drive us home
Meh, I think it's a dumb holiday. So now that we have a daughter I have Dh bring her a little something. He STILL brings flowers for me anyway. Ds has always hated it, especially handing out cards at school. Another dumb holiday? Sweetest Day. I mean, come on.
Dh takes his ladies (Lj&I) to eat then we'll go get donuts, with chocolate and sprinkles. I'm making Lj a no-sew blanket this year. We only get her something small.

DH and I usually go to lunch and a movie. My mom always volunteers to Bbsit. It's one of the few days she's excited to watch the boys. We do lunch bc it's cheaper and less crowded. It's one of the perks of h working strange hours.
I bought the boys each a book and I think I'll either get them heart cookies or a balloon.

Lunch is a great idea. With any luck DH will happen to be working at one of client's that are close to my office so we can do lunch as well.
Re: Valentine's Day
We celebrate it, but keep it pretty low key.
