Out
of the 5 eggs retrieved Saturday, all 5 were mature and 4 fertilized.
Needless to say, we are blown away! We've never had more than 1
fertilize before (definitely helps take the sting out of them not being
able to fully access the follies on my right). We're thrilled, but
we've also find ourselves in a new territory...facing decisions that
that we hadn't EVER expected to have to make. As of today's update, all
4 embryos are "growing and doing what they should be doing" (rather
stunned, I neglected to get quality details). Embryologist said that the plan is to do a 3DT
tomorrow: transfer 2 and freeze 2. I asked if we could transfer 3 if the
other embryos start to decline -- she said the Dr might be okay with
that and they'll see how things are going tomorrow.
DH and I are now leaning towards pushing to
transfer 3 regardless. I'll be 39 in July, I'm DOR, we're using DH's
previously frozen sperm...my last two transfers (1 embie each time) =
missed miscarriage due to chromosomally abnormal embryo and BFN. I have
little to no faith that any of our leftover embies will make it to
freeze.
I have a call in to RE to discuss (my RE isn't
available for a callback until Thursday, but they will have the IVF doc call
me back). Again, I'm VERY thankful to be facing this dilemma, but it's all a bit nerve-wracking.
TTC since honeymoon in 9/2010 Me: 39, Dx DOR (FSH = 10.5, AMH = 0.43, best AFC = 10), AMA MH: 37, Dx Obstructive Azoospermia, multiple successful sperm retrieval procedures

Yay!!!!! I've been waiting for this update. So glad that it seems like you have some options, albeit those options also come with some tough decisions. FWIW, I think you need to go with your (and DH's) gut on this one. You don't want to have any "what if's" in the end, and ultimately you have to feel that whatever choice you make is the best decision for you and DH. Hang in there girlie. I've got everything crossed that this is finally IT for you!!!!!
Awesome!! I'm so glad the low stim cycle has turned out so well for you! I hope you and the dr will be able to come to an agreement easily.
