I feel like now that L and I are home for a few months before traveling again we need to get back to some sort of a routine. Since it is cold and rainy alot, I feel like alot of our old activities are out.
Any new ideas of what to do now that our LO's are a little bit older?

Re: Any new ideas to entertain LO's during the day?
Not free, but DS loves coffee shops. He will happily sit in a high chair for 30 minutes to an hour - a couple toys attached to the toy bungees of his seat and a supply of snacky stuff for him...and I can borrow the wifi and work and he "plays". He just likes watching people. Weird though, because the same is NOT true in restaurants (too much activity?).
Finger painting
I wish I had time to make some fun sensory bins (I saw one with the giant pasta shells and think DS would looove it) or time to play with sensory bins with him during the week
Some sort of small climbing strucure? I have a fisher price thing from when DD was little that is much shorter than DS to give you an idea of size....it has a mini slide (it's the same length as DS and about 3 inches off the floor), an inflated ball and two arches...he will play with/on/around that for hours.
Asher loves the triangular crayons from Crayola. They are washable. I usually put him in his highchair with some paper and let him go to town. If he gets it on the tray, it wipes right off. That keeps him occupied for a long time.
Also, this morning, he played with a laundry basket for like 30 minutes! He just kept putting toys in it and taking them out and pushing the basket around.
He's pretty much into anything besides his toys!
This sounds interesting! Great ideas so far. Keep them coming
