February 2013 Moms

Yeeeeeah I'm done (a whine)

I'm so over being pregnant. I'll be full term this week and I know baby needs a few more weeks inside but I'm tired of being pregnant and now entering the miserable phase. I maybe sleep two hours a night between rolling over trying to get comfy, pee breaks, restless leg syndrome, and aching ribs and hips. Then there's the swelling and lightening crotch. Also I can't reach to wipe me bum anymore. Indifferent The goal was to wait to go into labor to take my maternity leave but now I'm thinking comfort wise I'll only make it two and a half more weeks.

All this complaining aside I'm very grateful for my healthy baby boy.

Re: Yeeeeeah I'm done (a whine)

  • I was tired last night at 9 pm. I went to bed. I was wide awake at 2 am and up until 5 am. I had to be up again at 6 am for work. If I nap, I screw up my sleep for the night. If i go to bed too early, I do the same. I have to relax somehow without falling asleep. I used to sleep like a rock. Now, a fart from a mile away will wake me up and keep me awake. I get jealous listening to DH sleep so deeply.

I MISS SLEEP! COME BACK TO ME, OLD FRIEND!!

  • Calgon take me away!!! I think I would prefer a crying baby right now over the discomfort I'm feeling at just being!!! Nothing seems to make me feel better. I just keep looking forward to the next day hoping it will bring me closer to the end of this pregnancy!!! I haven't even had any prelabor symptoms to make me think it's almost over or that there's been any progression. I REALLY HATE being so big!!

I might try napping after work cause at this point I'll take ANY sleep. I'm starting to get slap happy and a little dangerous behind the wheel. Tongue Tied

  • I hear you ladies on the sleep thing.  I went to bed around 9 last night and then boom...at 12:30 was awake for no. apparent. reason.  The best part is when you mention not sleeping to someone and they helpfully tell you its "nature's way of preparing you for when the baby comes."  Thank you.  Now I want to punch you.

Grr. I have a feeling I am going to be a moody mess until this baby makes her appearance.

Finally someone acknowledged this! I thought I was alone. It's been like two weeks and I had to start doing the around back method cuz I can't reach anymore. I was utterly mortified when it happened... I want my normal bathroom habits back now please!

LOL I do the around the back and also another tip is to drop your pants as far down as they'll go/just take them off. That and baby wipes. Yes I'm already using my kid's wipes Stick out tongue

  • I feel your pain (literally).  On top of the normal prego pains I have been sick, up all night coughing and tossing and turning.  Then again I think I will take the physical pain/discomfort over the psychological pain/discomfort from lack of sleep when the baby comes.  I remember sitting on the edge of our bed crying because the baby was crying and I was just so exhausted, it was like some sort of sleep torcher.

This exactly! It drives me NUTS when people say this! But my response is "at least I'll have someone cute to look at at 3 am"

  • Last night may have been the worst night of sleep that I've had yet. I could not get comfortable at all and was up most of the night (which gave me plenty of time to stew over drama that my mom is causing right now). Then we had a plumber come this morning to figure out why there were water marks appearing in the living room ceiling (under the master bath), and he had to put three holes in the ceiling to find the problem, which was apparently caused by the builder taking a shortcut when the house was built five years ago. So, now we need to find someone to repair the drywall before this kid comes! To top it off, the vacuum broke while I was cleaning up the drywall mess and it's no longer under warranty.

  • i find that the sleep thing is no problem after chasing a three year old around all day. maybe you could borrow one from a friend? it's totally worth how good the sleep is after :)

I also hate being so big. Its brutal to get from the floor to standing. I have 16 days left!
