Nanny cam?

I haven't been on thebump in awhile, and I had no idea where to post this, so here I am. :
I am a mom to a nine month old baby girl and began nannying for a seven month old about a month ago.
Today, I discovered a nanny cam hidden that has not been here before.
I have nothing to hide, I treat the baby I nanny the way I treat my own, but the fact that there is now a nanny cam makes me feel as if the mom doesn't trust me, especially because it wasn't there before. It could have been in a different spot.
I completely understand wanting to know what is going on with your child during the day, but I feel as though something must have happened for them to get a camera after I started.
What are your thoughts?

    I think you should set a time to discuss this with the mom. Just mention that you happened to find it and ask if there is something that makes her feel uncomfortable or if there is any area she feels you are lacking in than made her want to put a nanny cam in. I don't know what the legality of her videoing you without your consent is, but I would think it should have been disclosed prior to employment. It would make me uncomfortable to constantly feel like I was being watched. Good luck!

    I have been a nanny for over a year and have worked for a few different families.  I have always asked if each family has a nanny cam and I have not had a family use one yet.  But I have always asked families to make me aware if they do have one or feel like they need one.  I would just be as open as possible.
