The flu! Mini rant...

It hit me. I'm so mad because I've been trying to find a preservative-free shot and they're all sold out! I know it's not necessary, but the pharmacist scared me. They said they needed my doctor's approval and my doc wanted me to try to find a preservative free one, but if not, they would approve it for me. What happened in the meantime? I got the freakin flu. I'm sure the shot wouldn't have helped in time anyway.

If you get it, icepacks under your armpits and warm water with honey works wonders. I really wanted to go med-free this pregnancy, but had to take Tylenol. Oh well! I hope no one else gets it :(. Is it just me or do you still want your mommy when you're sick?! My husband is wonderful but there's nothing like a mom.

    I never heard of the armpit icepack idea-  I'm gonna try that next time.  I haven't gotten the flu in so long....I bet I'd be a huge baby if I get it! Hope you feel better soon!

    Its only a matter of time till i get it too, my 6 year old DS woke up this morning with a fever and i have been taking care of him all day long. Right now i am more bummed out that he will be missing school tomorrow than anything, he had a perfect attendance up until this. Ugh.

    I guess you can never be sure without a swab and test... But I had a high fever, aches in my knees and spine, dry cough, congestion... I've never had it before, I usually get sinus infections though and this is NOTHING like that.

    Awww I'm sorry :( The flu sucks. I understand about trying to go Tylenol or med free as much as possible, but it's so important to get your fever down asap. Sounds like you did/have done everything you could do. Hope you feel better soon!

    Yuck. That does sound like the flu. Stay hydrated, and feel better! 

    Also, I totally agree with you re: wanting my mom when I'm sick!
