  Yikes!  That doesn't sound like fun!  Sorry you don't feel well!

  My OB and pregnancy book both mentioned Robitussin DM (dextromethorphan) for cough too, but I would seriously see if your insurance/hospital has a 24-hour advice nurse line you can call just to make sure before you take anything.

  Maybe some cough drops or try some hot water with honey and lemon until you get an answer on the cough medicine. I know my OB okayed me for Robitussin DM and anything in the tylenol family.

  I agree with the pp's. I am partial to trying tea with honey before any meds though. Feel better!

  Thanks ladies. I called in reinforcements (a good friend who's mom is a nurse practitioner at an OB office) to get the OK for the Robitussin. But I've only gotten worse. Running a low grade fever and waiting for the OBs office to open. NOT happy

  I take a steamy shower and sleep with a humidifier going.  Keeping my airways moist helps.  I try not to take any medication.
