Gasping while excited

Please tell me y'all's little ones do or have done this gasping noise, particularly while excited or screaming/talking. Jon has been doing it on and off today and at first I thought he was playing with a new noise. Well at bath time he was doing it over and over again making me totally freaked out. He was laughing and seemed happy not distressed but he sounded like he was hyperventilating between laughing and excited screeching. Wth is this? He is breathing fine now while nursing and doesn't seem labored. Should I call the doctor or dies this just sound like he figured out some new sound?

Yes! Sunny does this gasp/inhale wheezing noise when she is really excited. It's pretty cute.

Cute?!? Bahaha! No way I thought the kid was freaking have some sort of episode and was gonna pass out. He is totally calm now. Ugh. Driving me bonkers... I hope he finds a new noise soon. I'd rather have raspberries...

Yes DD did this for a few days. She would do it after laughing. I worried for like a second but she seemed ok. Just a new thing I guess. It was pretty funny afterwards.

OMG! Yes!! DD has been sick this past week with a bad cough and she started making this same noise lately (past few days) and I actually called the Dr because I thought it was stridor (related to croup) which it still could be... but maybe not! I just related it to her cough automatically but it could just be a new noise for her! She does it often when she jumps in her jumparoo, which she LOVES! On top of this noise, she has just started (as in today) making a frustrated grunt/squeal type of noise that freaked me out too! Her face turns red! But I realized it is just a new noise as she is happy as can be during it, LOL!
