I personally feel like it's too much, but it's not that bad. I'm sure most people wouldn't think about it. A girl on my BMB has a Savannah and Charlotte actually.
I actually love Savannah and Charlotte together! Charlotte was a name before it was a place, so it's not quite like naming your daughters Africa and Asia or London and Berlin.
The names do have the subtle southern belle feel, but, as with any kind of coordinating names, I think subtle is key. Savannah and Charlotte seem to hit the mark just perfectly!
I initially think of them as pretty girl names... Not places.
I was confused at first why people were saying "too much" until I saw this post! Oh, places, right! I just thought of them as pretty names also!! And that said, I love them as a sib set!

I agree! It's a very pretty name, and I don't think of locations when I see them together.
Savannah is definitely a place-inspired name in my book.
I feel like Charlotte is a primarily a girl's name that happens to have also inspired some names for towns such as Charlotte, NC and Charlottesville, VA.
I love them both but I'm biased b/c I have a Charlotte too! I think they might be too much if you live in the South but otherwise I don't think many people would initially make the place-name connection.
I live in Charleston, SC so both of those cities are just a short drive away... so I think city first before name when they are said together. That said, I think they are both great names... so probably just depending on where you live like PPs have mentioned.
I don't think about Charlotte as a place name. I really like it, but I'm not a fan of the nickname Charlie, so that would give me pause. I also really like Holly.

I think it completely depends on where you live. I'm in the South and yes I would make the city connection and yes you would probably get little ignorant snide comments. I knew a couple named Savannah and Dallas. They always got asked where Austin or Denver were.
That being said. If you don't live anywhere near the cities I would go for it! Charlotte is great!
I think they are a bit much together, but I am within 3 hours of both cities (another Charleston girl here), so that is probably why.
FWIW I think Sasha is adorable, as is Holly but I don't love either of those with Savannah. So I would vote for Charlotte as long as the city thing doesn't bother you at all.
I like it! I wouldn't think of them as place names.

They're both well-known names so I don't think most people immediately associate them with the places. Both great names so I say go for it. If it was Dakota and Montana on the other hand...
Separately, I don't immediately think of the cities with either of these names. Together, it was the first thing I thought of when reading the title, before even opening the post. And I'm in St. Louis. I don't think it's the worst matchiness you could come up with, but I do think people will notice.
That said, Charlotte is by far the best of these 3 choices. Sasha and Holly are both really NMS, and they don't pair well with Savannah.

Exactly this. Not the worst sibset ever, but will def get recognized as southern places at times.

Me neither. I think they sound great together.
