Dry Skin Patches?

My DD has had (since birth) dry skin patches.  I'm usually able to get it under control with some MK Extra Emollient Night Cream (great for dry skin on anyone and perfectly safe) and baby lotion, but when winter hit, its so much harder.  It doesnt't bother her in any way, so I'm not overly concerned. We have a humidifier in her room and in the living room (because it is terrible dry in our home), and I lotion her twice a day with a generic baby lotion. However, I'm wondering if you moms out there would recommend any specific lotion for dry skin on babies. Our pedi says its just dry skin and of no concern. She recommended Jergen's Ultra Healing. Thoughts??

Re: Dry Skin Patches?

  • I like the Aveeno Baby Products for dry skin.  DS dry skin got much better with their bath products and lotion.  He also had a mild case of eczema on his back that was better after using the products.  Not sure what baby products you are using, but I felt for us combining a good bath and lotion product for dry skin worked.

    Good Luck.

  • We use aquaphor. It works really well. You can find it with other lotions in the store.
