Anyone with a Tabeo? Question

My DS and my nephew each got one and neither of them seem to work very well.  One won't charge and the other one takes 12 hours to charge for 1 hour of play time and it's tricky to get the cord to stay in it to charge it.

 I'm trying to decide if I should return them both for a refund/credit or try again because both kids seems to really want them.

Are they poor quality in general or did I just end up with 2 that were damaged?
