RSV ?

DD tested positive for RSV on Thursday. We were told to do breathing treatments every three hours. We went back to the pedi yesterday and LO is still wheezing so we are to continue with treatments every three hours and start weaning tomorrow hopefully. She spiked a 102 fever last night that we got down with tylonel. If you're LO has had RSV, when did you notice improvements in breathing? How long did you do breathing treatments for? RSV is the worst!
Edit for spelling. Insomnia ate my brain.

  • It is awful! I hope your LO feels better soon! Colby's peaked on day 8 (that was the worst and he was in the hospital) he was marginally better by day 11 and 99% better by day 15.   We stopped the treatments around day 13 I think.

How did you know to bring him to the hospital? Our pedi said to bring her in if her temp got up to 104. That seems scary high. 102 freaked me out and I almost brought her in. The fever combined with the wheezing is scary stuff.

  • Ben was in the hospital last Monday with RSV. No breathing treatments. He started coughing on Tuesday...got stuffy and wheezy on Friday which resulted in a trip to the ER...would hold his breath on Sunday which was another trip to ER and admission into Childrens Hospital for 24 hours. He started acting better around Tuesday. So it was a week after the coughing began, and 5 days after the big symptoms started. I think his RSV was worse for me it was very scary than it was for him. Good luck and I hope he feels better.
