So, do you feed LO in the MOTN still? LO is 4 mos and 12 lbs. I am assuming at least one feed still. Correct? Lately she wants to eat ALL the time but I think that is more for comfort at this point. Thoughts?
You may be experiencing a growth spurt. Is LO actively swallowing with your motn feedings?
That being said, DD is five months and still wakes up twice to eat. Every once in a while she'll sleep through till 6am and I wake up engorged haha but well rested!

DD started cutting her 3 am feeding about 3 weeks ago. Once or twice a week she will wake up at 330, bit sometimes she just goes back to sleep...doesn't cry...and other times I get her to feed her. Otherwise the norm lately is sleeping 730 to 545. No complaints!!!

There is a period of development that many call "the four month wakeful." DS went through it and it sounds like your LO is, too. It stinks, but it should get better in a few weeks. DS always wanted to nurse when he woke up at night, so I always nursed him. 4 months is still a bit young to be cutting back on feedings.
Well, LO is waking almost every 2 hrs at night, going on a month of this! ah! I don't feed every time but i do if it's been more than 3 hrs. Sometimes she actively nurses, other times it's for comfort and she is back to sleep within a min or two. I am thinking she still needs to eat at least 2x a night with her weight but I would LOVE for her to sleep at least 8 hrs without interruption. Maybe at 5 months
Also, as far as when babies don't need to eat in the middle of the night anymore, I strongly feel that it depends baby to baby. Some LO's STTN at 3 weeks, some LO's don't STTN until over a year. My DS still wanted to nurse once a night until about 2 months ago (so until 21 months). I'm not sure that he "needed" it, but he certainly thought that he did, so I let him nurse!
Well, my LO just started STTN about 4 weeks ago. Until a year old he was up 2-3x a night. DH and I did not want to CIO or any other sleep train method so we dealt with it. At 4 mo DS was up every 2-3 hr still at night so if LO is only 1x a night, I'd say you're doing great! Are you planning on trying to sleep train or night wean?

My son is 4 months old and probably close to 18 to 20 lbs The last time he was weighed was on 11/29 and he was 15lbs 10oz, so I'm just guessing. On average we are up anywhere from 2 to 4 times a night for feedings. It can be really hard on those nights he is up every 2 to 3 hours, but we make it through.

At 9 months DS is still up 1-2 times a night to feed. He is very distracted during the day that the MOTN feedings are some of the better feedings. Even taking bottles are a fight when I'm at work (that's what DH says). So, we have no plans of cutting those feedings out anytime soon. He sleeps 6:30-7 till 7ish. His 9 month appointment is Tuesday but he was 23#6oz at 8 months.
My son nursed every two hours around the cloCk until I weaned at 13 months (though I tried to wean at 12 months and he wasn't having it). I think it depends on the child- some nurse several times at night, some begin STTN within a few weeks from birth.
My son was almost ten pounds at birth, so for us, it had nothing to do with weight.
We are EBF. Currently on two MOTN feedings but working towards just one. 6.5 months and 17 pounds.
At three months, on his own he was waking to nurse three times. Then, I went back to work, he hit the four-month wakeful, we started bedsharing and it all went to hell and he was comfort nursing every 2 to 3 hours. At six months, we transitioned him to his crib and began working on the night feedings.

With teething, I'm back to feeding my 20 month old, 22 lb son twice a night.
Sigh. But it's easier than letting him cry. I'll night wean again next week when the eye teeth are in.
