TTC After a Loss

To temp or not to temp during 2ww (a bit of crazy inside)

Ok, I will first admit that I am probably over thinking this...but...

My CHs are so beautiful right now, and I love my temps....do I continue to temp or stop and hold on to the hope that they might end in something good?

I originally planned on not temping during my 2ww since my chart seemed promising last cycle and it just ended in heartache. Now that the time has come, I am not sure if it will help.

Does anyone/ has anyone stopped temping during 2ww? Did you find it helpful or worse?

Here's a little hotness for you viewing pleasure since you had to read my crazy:

I'd keep temping, in case the info is useful later. You're going to be crazy either way, right? Might as well be crazy and well-informed.

Thanks for the eye candy. :)

  • I stopped temping during my 2WW in December because I went on vacation, and it was nice to not stress about it. However, it was never far from my mind and it is hard to over stress when on vacation! In the end, seeing a BFN sucks no matter how it comes, so it didn't really take away that blow for me. Continuing to temp will only give you more information, which can be a good thing. After that 1 cycle of not doing it (and last cycle where I didn't temp at all) I'm going to temp all cycle again this time.

  • ok ladies, thank you! You all of course are right, if nothing else it will give me information.

Snedge, your right about the rise...it is so nice, I have no clue if that actually makes a difference, but it is making me happy right now :)

    thanks everyone!

  • If you've temped for a few months and know what usually goes on, then I think it's okay to stop temping during the 2ww.

Here's my basic reasoning:  You temp for one reason, and that's to know when you ovulate.  Once you've confirmed ovulation and your fertile window is over, there is nothing else that temps are going to tell you.   Yeah, you might see an "implantation dip" or you might not, and you might have a triphasic chart or you might not...none of those are necessarily indicative of pregnancy anyway.   So you might as well take a break.

For me, temping seriously cuts into my sleep.  Once I have enough data, I plan on not temping during the 2ww anymore.

I always tell myself this but then temp anyway. But, I'm sick with a fever now and still temping, so maybe you don't want to go by me.

  • Typically I used to stop after getting CHs.  But I went an extra day this time around because of my opk results.  I think I may just take them the rest of this week seeing as I have to wake up early for work anyways, but then put the thermometer away over the weekend.
