Today is my last day of BCP's!!!! Baseline on Wednesday and start 10 units Lupron that morning and night, then on Friday start 150 iu follistim morning with the lupron, and 150 follistim and 150 menopur at night with the lupron. I'm on a microdose flare protocol due to AMH.
Anyone who is cycling (or close to it) want to share their protocol? I am always interested in seeing what everyone else is taking.
Re: What's your protocol?
Woo hoo! I'm on Follistim and menopur for now, ganirelix will come in later and ill be doing PIO which I'm not exactly looking forward to
good luck!
3 Clomid IUIs -- BFNs
IVF #1 never made it to transfer
On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013
Follistim/Menopur/Ganirelix
Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

How does ganirelix work? I've heard of it but don't know what it is. I am also doing PIO after retrieval. My trigger shot is also an IM shot so I guess that will be the "test" shot to see how good my husband will be at shooting me in the butt for 2 weeks after ER. If I am pregnant, I get to switch to crinone if my levels are ok. They also gave me estradiol tabs to take after transfer, not sure what for. I just nod my head yes and take what they give me!
That was my protocol too - it's antagonist. Ganirelix prevents you from Oing early. It comes in a prefilled syringe with quite possibly the most dull needle ever made. At least mine were...
IM shots get easier with time. I did a combo trigger so one of the three trigger shots was IM and now I do daily PIO shots. I can do them on myself. The hardest part is turning around to reach my own butt. lol. They do hurt more than sub-q shots though.
Tomorrow is my last day for BCP. I've got 75 iu follistim and 75 iu menopur in the am and 150 iu follistim in the pm. My first ultrasound is 2/5. I've got pio, ganirelix, and estrace too for whenever they tell me!
Did I understand correctly that they would do the first u/s even with AF?

Yes! The ganirelix needle is awful! And the med itself used to leave me little red welts for a day or two. I don't have a problem giving myself the IM shots...I've done b12 shots in the past...but I know the PIO hurts because its in oil. I have has patients tell me the best bet is to ice first, the. Heat after the shot. And it makes sense, since its oil, the heat helps the medication spread into the muscle tissue instead of staying and leaving a nasty knot. I will also be doing crinone after and estrace, too.
Vegas--yup, u/s with or without AF. Fun stuff!

Good luck with the PIO! I don't have any experience with that as I've always done crinone. All you ladies who do your IM shots yourself are so much braver than me! The trigger shot is my only IM injection and I can't bring myself to do that one on my own! So kudos to you all!!

I've been on lupron for two weeks and I start stims (follistim and menopur) + a lowered dose of lupron tomorrow. Estimated dates for ER are the 8th-11th.
Edited to add: Follistim and Menopur will both be 150iu and Lupron is at 20u now and dropping to 5u.
My trigger will be IM, then adding in estrace and PIO (whimper) and god knows what else. I have so many meds in my kitchen right now I'm starting to think I live in a pharmacy.
I didn't respond better, but almost the same when I was doing IUIs with Femara. So I totally get adding in clomid with your cycle! Will you be on any suppressants? Sorry if its in your siggy, I'm on my phone so I can't see. I am not doing any suppressants this cycle and have read about developing lead follies when starting off at high does of meds right off the bat. I am super nervous about that happening with me. Just curious if you were being suppressed or not.
Ganirelix left little red welts for me too. I thought it was just me. I also have red hives / welts where I do my PIO shots. I bet I should probably ask my RE about that, eh? They specifically told me I can't do heating pads or anything hot near my ovaries or uterus.
I'm doing PIO and Vivelle Dot. I hate the Vivelle. It gives me a headache. I oddly don't mind the PIO as much. Although I do mind the hives. They are so freaking itchy! It's SO hard not to scratch when I'm doing the shot because it itches so bad. It's worse right while I'm doing it and after then it fades some.
