A thread a couple below got me to thinking that maybe I should make a quick trip to Kohls/JCP to buy Anja some winter clothes for next year. She's pretty much always been on target with clothing size for most Carters. Of course I can't predict her growth within the next year, but I'm tempted to test my luck. Is anybody else buying ahead for next year?

Re: Winter Clearance
I was thinking along the same lines. I got a killer deal on a couple of light long sleeve Ts at target the other day. I think I paid a dollar for them. They're not anything super special, but they aren't hideous either. Good play clothes for a price you can't beat.
I always do this. Espeically on bigger ticket items: I buy their next years jackets at the end of season..........sometimes I'm a bit off on size, but in all honesty, not very often as my girls have so far very consistently grown (maintaining their curves). PJ's are a big one too (picking up winter PJ's now). And things like cardigans, sweaters etc. I probably buy more at the end of winter for the next fall/winter than I do at the end of summer (for the next spring summer) - but that's mostly because we live pretty far north and it doesn't usually get all that nice here for that long (so I get more wear out of things).
I tend towards brands that I know how they fit when buying for the next year - it's also a way I can justify some of the brands I like them to wear (that full price are sort of too expensive to get painted on a preschool for example!).
The one thing I can't seem to do is get shoe sizes right! But I keep trying
).
I should add that I really like to shop - so any excuse really ;o).
It does help that my girls are all roughly the same size (for their age) and if I do get something wrong size wise - there are 2 or at least 1 that might wear it again (the baby doesn't get new things much, except that she's off-season to the other 2, so some new things have been necessary).
For jeans/pants - definitely get the ones with adjustable waists! They are a lifesaver! (Gap, Childrens Place, H&M, Old Navy all have them on at least most of their pants).
