from reading the '50 shades' trilogy. It was a fun way to pass my time, however I thought that it would be hotter. Maybe it's just been too hyped up, I dunno. Now I can get back to bumping and housework. Ha! Okay, that was funny! Maybe just bumping :-)
Re: I'm back
And the Midwest is still the best. A few ladies in here backed me up, so it has to be true.
WOOT!
With ya there gurl. Although you're probably on the much better side of the state than I'm on... but I digress.
Oh yea! This also means I can ask you!
Do you find that you have to go into a little too much detail explaining where you're from when you're say... on the east coast? Or vacation somewhere a little far from the west coast?
Not only does everyone automatically assume D.C. when you say Washington (kinda hard not to...), but many don't even know where Washington State is, let alone that it's one of the 50 states!
This is how conversations go for us:
Stranger: "So where are you from?"
Deez10: "Washington State"
Stranger: "Wait, you mean Washington D.C.?"
Deez10: "No, Washington THE state."
Stranger: "Where is that even at?"
Deez10: "I'm over this conversation. I feel like I should applaud your ignorance or something."
Thanks for the warm welcome! JG, I know what you mean. I was going to scream if I heard what her inner goddess was doing. Also "he touched me...there. WTF?
Deez, how did I not know (or remember) that you're from WA? Do you live in Spok-a-vegas? I totally agree with the whole thing that you wrote. However, if they started asking me where WA was, I'd have to b!tch slap that person.
LOVE the Tupac pic!
And I agree....her inner goddess needs to stfu!
Thankfully, I'm not in that hell-hole.
I'm in the other east-of-the-mountain hell-hole (which shall remain nameless thanks to all our lovely lurkers - seriously... what other BMB gets over 1,000 hits on their OU Thursdays?!? Frucking lurkers.) Anyhoo - DH and I went to school at UW and spent many years living in Seattle - we miss the area dearly. But not the traffic. Or cost of living.
Oh that is nothing. Try living in Vancouver, WA!
Stranger: "where ya from?"
Me: "Vancouver"
Stranger: "oh I love BC!"
Me: "nope, not Vancouver BC.."
Stranger: "What state?"
Me: "Washington"
Stranger: "oh DC!"
Me: "no you douche, if it was DC, I would say DC."
They actually sell shirts that say:
"Vancouver, not BC
Washington, not DC"
My guess is WaSnatchee!
Regardless, everyone in WA should move to an exit close to Interstate 5, so we can all get together on Lake Tapps. I'll bring the boat, Chunstad can bring the booze....and everyone else can bring sunscreen. Leave the men and kids at home.
Oh this made my day! Yep, GTG. Fo sho.
And nope. Not WaSNATCHee!
Think a little drier and shittier.
Cluster of three little towns and a sagebrush rolling through. The area is turning to gold for wine lovers however - I foresee a ton of B&Bs in our future.
Yep - we got the crappier end of the location deal for the time being - both sets of families been here forever. Really shouldn't complain though. Free daycare on both sides where they actually 'argue' over who gets DS more days of the week (we constantly deal with "can we keep him over night?" - DS is the first grandbaby on both sides), play dates during the week that I don't have to negotiate or execute, we can drop him off in pajamas and they have breakfast ready for him... not to mention dinner if DH and I have to work late. Put it this way - we're putting in a few crappy years of being stuck in a town we thought we'd be long gone from by now. But our strategy is working, DH got on with the company he needed to get on with in order to move us to South America at some point where we can live/work the rest of our days with the babies. This, of course, won't be happening until we're out of the infant stage and no longer need daycare. Not giving that up - free daycare you trust implicitly? Deargawd, we hit the lottery.
So we've got awhile...
Might explain why I offered to keep the Oct. blog up. I'm frucking bored in this town and even with a toddler, there ain't much to do. Just sayin'.
Elsa, LOVE IT!! Totally leaving the kids at home!
Geesh, Deez, sounds like you got it freakin' MADE! All us west-siders need to plan a trip to the DRY-SHITTIES to go wine tasting. We've got a friend who lives in one of those towns.
Please do, seriously!
LOL! It sure was hard slogging through the beginning of book 3. I had to thumb through it to find something interesting to look forward to. However it was cool listening to them talk about the area where I am from. Except it bothered me when they said that they were building a house on the coast. It is on Puget Sound, not the Washington Coast.
