Back pain...support belt?

Anyone else having almost constant back pain? I have a very "archy" back related to years of being a gymnast and I started having lower back pain last week. If I sort of lift my belly up a bit, it feels a bit better. Has anyone invested in a support belt and does it work?

Re: Back pain...support belt?

  • I got one from Motherhood Maternity for $30ish and it has started to help. I asked my chiropractor about the belts and she recommends them.

  • I had terrible back pain since about 13weeks into my pregnancy and kept putting off getting the belt. Big mistake. I got one right before Christmas and it was my miracle! And you can also use it after pregnancy to help align the hips/pelvis.
  • I was ordered to get one because I have a 5 lb baby "practically sitting in my vagina" according to me doctor and all the weight so low is really putting a lot of pressure on my back and hips.  I got the one they sell at Babies R Us and it has been helping quite a bit even though by the end of the day I am ready to be out of the damn thing.  Between the belt, and maternity pants, and my shirts there are just too many layers down there!  But, my back and hips feel a lot better so it's worth it.
