October 2011 Moms

What's your lightweight stroller?

We have a really cheap umbrella, and I've been looking into something different. I don't want to spend a ton, since she may be the only baby we have. I can't stand our umbrella, because it's too short, it's wonky, and she tries to climb out of it. Our jogger works great for most places, but it's bulky and a pain to travel with. Any recommendations?

Re: What's your lightweight stroller?

  • We had the Chicco Liteway when we only had 1 kid. We liked it! I'd suggest buying off Craigslist if possible, I always find that cheapest.

  • Combi is great. It even has a shoulder strap so you can carry it on your shoulder across your back if the kid decides he wants to walk.

  • I have the Chicco one and love it! It's actually the only one we ever use. It's got the harness style straps so no escaping either.

  • We have the BRU (by Baby Trend) TrendSport Stroller. I like that it has a canopy, cup holders, a tray and a large basket. It folds up pretty flat and is very lightweight. We have used it when we traveled to SF, to town for errands, and any time we will be in a city. We don't have any complaints with it really but we don't expect a lot from ti either. It won't go over a very big bump in the sidewalk but otherwise it strolls just fine.

  • We also have the Chicco lightway. It's super easy to push, and handles very smooth. It folds and unfolds very easily, and is really light weight. I love it so much I rarely use my larger stroller anymore.
  • We have the chicco lightweight. We had it for a year now.. love it

  • We have the Babytrend Euroride. While we love it, I can't really say its very lightweight! Folds like an umbrella stroller and is obviously smaller than the stroller from our Chico travel system... I just wish it was a little lighter.

ETA I just realized its only a pound heavier than the chicco liteway so maybe it's not that heavy! The Euroride is 99 at target. It still gets my rec : We also tried out the First Years jet but the Euroride seemed much sturdier and smoother.
