Labor pains?

I have been in pain since waking up this morning. It feels like a pretty intense menstrual cramp from my back wrapped around to my belly. It does seem to subside a bit, but when it gets intense, my belly doesnt feel super hard like im having a contraction. But then again my belly ALWAYS feels hard so it may be hard for me to tell. LO seems to be VERY active though, i dont know if maybe hes just making me sore?
Any similar experiences?

    Menstrual-like cramping can be indicative of the early stages of labor.  It typically was for me (this is my third rodeo).  Also, you'd be surprised how active LO can be during labor.  It's possible you've begun the early stages - I wouldn't rule it out.  But it could also be BH with a touch of general soreness.  Try a glass of water and relax.  But you could also try giving the on-call nurse at your practice a call and see what they think.  Couldn't hurt.
