It feels like crap, like horrible. There has been no worse pain in my life than leaving the hospital without M.
And then, slowly, it feels good. It feels good to have your child be parented by people who are ready and able (and so excited) to parent. It feels good to know that you don't have to resent that child for making the rest of your life so different from the way you wanted it to go. It feels good to watch M grow up with a dad who is there for him and can provide for them.
Especially now that I have a child I'm raising, I know for certain that I was NOT ready to be a good mom. You have plenty of time to make a decision you can live with.
Application approved Dec '11 Mar '12: Homestudy interrupted by change in Uganda requirements - where do we go from here? After searching and searching, back with Uganda but with our homestudy agency's program. Homestudy complete July 19 USCIS I-600A submitted July 20. Biometrics appointments arrived Aug 17; fingerprinted Aug 21; 171H received Sept 25th. On the wait list Oct 1st: #18. By Jan 25th, we're #13! Come home, baby A!
