Help! Poop cleaning ?

I'll spare you the background details and just go straight to my question. How would you clean diaper leakage and get the horrible smell out of a PNP mattress? It MIGHT be water since I think his sippy cup leaked, but it's at least partially diarrhea that leaked out his pjs.

And now I am going to go vomit from the smell.

    oh my gosh. First I would sprinkle baking soda on it and let it sit for an hour or so. Then I would spray it with peroxide (mix with water and put it in a spray bottle) and scrub it with baking soda and maybe a bit of vinega for good measure. And get some waterproof pads for under the sheets Girl!!! good luck!!!

    Thanks for the tip.

    You want to know something really dumb? I don't own baking soda. I knew there was something basic I left off my list. Replacing all the basics after moving sucks. Looks like we have to go to the store...again. Sigh...

    Oh yuck!  I don't have any tips, but homediva's advice sounds like an excellent place to start.  Good luck, hope you can get rid of the smell!
