Daycare questions

I'm 16 weeks with my first child. I am wondering how hard it is it find daycare around the north shore area. When should i start looking? When do you actually contact the center to sign up? I specifically need a place that takes newborns since i only get 8 weeks off before having to return to work full time. I'm not even sure where to begin. How do you know if a place is good? Are there any good review/rating sites out there? Thanks!
