My DH...

is amazing. I've been in a major funk the past week or two, and had a breakdown yesterday. There's still a lot to do to prepare for LO, I'm not sleeping well, I haven't been able to get out unless I go grocery shopping, and I have PUPPPS which is incredibly annoying. I was to the point yesterday that I just wanted to be at 40 weeks and have this baby.  I told him all of this and he instructed to get dressed and not worry about dinner. He took me to a nice restaurant that I've been dying to try and to order whatever I wanted...despite being on a budget, I deserved to be pampered. We had the best meal and I feel super relaxed now.

I know I see a lot of vents about husbands, and I've had plenty of rants. But he's really been amazing through everything and has dealt with my mood swings and other crap.

That being said, what has your DH done to help you relax?

  • I second DH being amazing!!

He has always been extremely helpful with everything and more so now that I'm pregnant. When I come home from work I don't have to worry about anything. He cooks, cleans and even does the laundry. He comes from a family were it wasn't just his moms responsibility to make the house run smoothly. Both of his parents are from farming families. With farming families, everyone does their fair share. I'm so grateful that they raised him and his siblings the same way.

  • what a great DH you have.  Mine is so great.  He is reading the books I gave him!  What a guy!  He's also helped organize the nursery and do the last minute shopping! :)

  • When I first got pregnant, I was on bedrest and it was my birthday.  He had someone come to my home and turn it into my own spa.  I could not get a massage but she did a facial and a mani pedi.

I have been on modified bed rest since 20 weeks.  He has had to take over all of my household chores and get the nursery ready.  I lay on the couch and tell him that he is doing a good job.

Writing that down, it kind of makes me feel guilty that I threatened to kill him yesterday for asking the doctor if we could delay my induction by a week.

  • My husband has been incredible. I had a fluid leak at 29 weeks and was admitted to the hospital with the possibility of going into labour at any time.  We had absolutely nothing done in preparation figuring we still had over 2 months to go. While I was in the hospital, my dh and brothers put together the whole nursery. It was exactly how I wanted it. Now I'm on bedrest at home and he's taken over pretty much everything while working full time.
  • Sounds like a thoughtful DH!  Glad you had a wonderful dinner out!

My DH has been wonderful.  Since Christmas, I have been exhausted and more uncomfortable.  He totally understands my need to come home from work, lay down, and relax.  He helps out all the time!

On top of everything, I have been home sick all week.  He's gone out to get me medicine, popsicles, and last night he brought home Chinese food for dinner.

And tomorrow he is going to the breastfeeding class with me, which I know he was not really looking forward to, but wants to go to in order to support me.

  • DH just came back from a work trip to texas, and brought me back the biggest bag of red vines. They are my favorite, and then dont sell them in where we live.  It was a wonderful surprise.

  • I'm glad he was so supportive, that's great!

My husband is all around a really good guy. He is not romantic at all (and I'm a hopeless romantic so it kills me sometimes) but his love language is serving which is really nice since I'm pregnant. We have a 22 month old daughter and he has always taken over all baby duties as soon as he walks in the door after being at work for 10+ hours, which is so helpful.

This is my DH and me too. He is all about doing things around the house that need done. Dishes, cleaning, cooking(although it's almost always spaghetti lol). He also asks just about every night if I need anything rubbed. He goes to the two hour birthing class every week with me (for 6 weeks total) and doesn't complain too much haha.
