Help Please Re: Overnight Leaks :(

DS is waking up soaked to the bone with increasing frequency.  We thought we finally had a solution to this when we switched to Huggies Overnights, which worked great for a while.  I tried to size up but the 5s are super baggy in the legs.

In addition to trying a variety of diaper brands we also tried moving his last bottle back a little, but he still pees through 4+ nights a week.

Does anyone have any helpful hints? I am planning to double diaper tonight but I am also exploring CD options - perhaps a CD momma can help me out? I have tried to do some research but the options are overwhelming. I was thinking about adding a double to his disposable, but I am willing to invest in a few CD sets if anyone has a strong recommendation.

TIA for any words of advice!

Re: Help Please Re: Overnight Leaks :(

  • CD perspective here: We use either a BumGenius 4.0 (which is a pocket diaper) or a FreeTime (which is an All-in-one for night time.

The pocket is nice because we can stuff it with as many inserts as we need. The FreeTime is nice, because it's easy. If we needed extra absorbency, we could put an insert in there, but it's usually just fine. LMK if you have any questions about any of what I've said. It would be pretty cheap to buy one or two to see if they'll work for you.

    Pass the sheet cake.

  • We put Lucia's diaper on backwards at night. The back goes up so much higher and she sleeps on her belly, so this really helps. She hasn't peed through since we started turning it around. Not sure this would help with a boy, but it's free so worth a shot :

  • DS also wakes up soaked frequently. I change him in the middle of the night.

We also use BumGenius 4.0's stuffed with the microfiber insert and two double layer hemp doublers. DD is a very heavy wetter too and to is the only thing that works for us. I have friends who use fitteds and wool, but I have not made that investment yet. GL
