I did the ferber method on my son at 7 months old. he always has been a great sleeper after that. he naps 2-3 hours during the day and he used to go to sleep no problem. I would lay him in his crib and he would say night night no problem.
Now for the last week he has been crying when I put him down. He wants to be rocked in the chair. I did this a few weeks ago when he was sick. I tried to let him cry last night but he was crying so bad. it took me an hour and half to get him to be ok for me to leave him in his crib. I would rock him not putting him to sleep but still put him in his crib awake.
I am wondering whats going on and do I need to referber him????
someone at work says he might sense the new baby is coming etc. But I dont think he gets that.
thoughts?? thanks.

thank you. I hope its just a fluke thing. I think CIO was worse now than when he was 7 months old. He also didnt nap yesterday, so I am hoping last night was because he was overtired. He is napped today so I am hoping tonight is better.

We didn't ferber, but did a sort of sleep training when designing a bedtime routine that worked for when DS was in his crib. We then had a lot of changes happen -- moved him into a new room and into a big boy bed, he got sick, and then we had a baby. So... he's had a lot going on the past few months.
We're still working on getting down another bedtime routine, but we're slowly making progress. I wanted to wish you good luck! This is just a phase!
