Britax Advocate/Convertible Car Seat

I have been putting LO in the Britax Advocate and he cries and hates it. I am hoping he will get used to it soon as it has only been a few weeks.  I live in the midwest and it is cold, but it is very difficult to bundle him and then comfortably have in the car seat (the hood, collar, etc. are always in his face as he has no neck) and he just fusses.  In addition, the straps are supposed to click when tight, but it always seems I have to adjust them by pulling the straps in the back when putting him and in and out, which is a pain. 

Anyway, for those of you that live in cold weather do you bundle LO up everytime you go somewhere? Even if you are just dropping him off to Grandma's or daycare?

Also, any tricks to getting LO to like the car seat and/or tricks with the straps and how not to have to adjust the back strap so often?

    You actually aren't ever supposed to put them in the seat wearing anything heavier than regular clothes with a thin fleece.  You're seeing yourself that the straps are not maintaining as they should and that's the concern.  They can slip off in a crash because the jacket compresses and your LO can be thrown from the seat.  Warm the car up and bring him out in his coat, take it off and put him in the seat and then cover him with a blanket or put his coat on him backwards so it's over the harness.

    Thanks for letting me know as I thought that only applied to the infant seat. I have been dressing him in a columbia fleece and hat so will stick to that and bring the puffy coat along incase.

    Agree with first poster but just want to say my son went through a period- maybe a few weeks- where he hated the carseat. I never found a reason why but he got over it. Try lots of toys, talking to him while driving and music he may just be having a phase of not liking it.
