Okay, we just started PT DS and he is doing great. One problem, how do I leave the house? Right now, we are in the really early stages so when he tells me he needs to go I try to get him on the potty asap. He usually goes within 3-10 minutes. I just don't know what I would do if I even went to Target. I think I would bring a little potty with me, but rushing to get him to the potty in time... how do you all do it? Or did you just not leave your house for the first month or so...

Re: Potty training-will I ever leave my house??
I haven't started PT yet but from a few things I read on the net, you can bring a portable potty with you and leave it in the car. Or some places (I think it was Walmart) have a family bathroom with a tiny toilet for kids.
I guess it would be ideal for LO to use the potty at home and then quickly leave as soon as hes done and then try to get back home before he has to go again.
Oh and make sure you have an extra pair of pants with you when you go out =D
When we're out, C doesn't even think to tell me right now. If we're at home though that's a different story. If you're training to train quickly then you might want to stick a bit closer to home. For us, we're on the easy route (ha ha!) so I just don't worry about it right now. If he did say something though, I would just take him to the big bathroom though I am thinking about buying a travel potty seat. I can't imagine toting a full size child potty into a store though.
I guess I'm waiting until she "masters" the idea of pt at home before trying it in the real world. At that point I'll buy a potty seat or drag the one from her small potty around.
DD just recently started insisting on using the big potty, so maybe in a few weeks we'll give the outside world a whirl.

We went to target the other night..she told me and we just went to the bathroom
Then again we are not using a toddler potty. She is fine with using the big potty.
So proud of my big girl.
We have this: https://www.amazon.com/Kalencom-2-in-1-Potette-Plus-Blue/dp/B0016L0MMS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359140751&sr=8-1&keywords=potette
I haven't used it as a stand alone toilet (that grosses me out) but it's compact and tucks easily into the diaper bag. It makes it so much easier for her to use the big toilet when we are out and about. I haven't encountered a toilet it doesn't fit on yet.

yeah, dealing with pee in a grocery bag does not sound ideal...but the top part does seem pretty useful!
