I was hoping for a VBAC but it looks like that's not going to happen. So now I'm trying to remember what all I needed for after my c-section but of course I can't remember. What all are you finding is helpful/needed for after the section?
I already have huge panties, pads, pants that I can pull up to my belly button. Last time OB recommended keeping vaseline on the incision for moisture, so I'll get some of that today.....what else do I need? TIA!
Re: Post c-section supplies?
Ditto this.....I ate a lot of simple, health(ish) snack foods.... like granola bars, grahmfuls, breakfast 2 go trail mix packs.... mostly because I really didn't have an appetite, but I knew I needed to eat. So maybe little snacks?
Don't forget to take home your peri-bottle and as many mesh panties/hospital pads you can! I know you bought them already, but I found them better and more comfortable than anything I purchased.
Loose/comfy clothes that either go above your incision or just below it.
Good luck and congrats on getting to welcome your new one soon!!

I would say no-way to vaseline! More like polysporin or something like that.
Wounds heal best when exposed to air. Vaseline will keep it moist...and it's a petroleum product ...
Oh I forgot about this! It was AWFUL!
For me, the worst part was the constipation so I would get stool softeners, suppositories, and tucks pads.
I have had three c/s and might have 4 one day. One thing I would get again is disposable plates, cups and silverware so as not to be doing as many dishes. I would also get a nice water bottle to keep with you on the couch. This way you don't have to lean forward to get a drink of water.
Vaseline? My OB had me do the opposite-use gauze or a maxi pad to keep the incision covered and dry. Too much moisture can cause a yeast infection.
I needed colace, a pillow for coughing/sneezing, and medical tape and gauze.
