Does this sound right to you?
The school disctrict had a professional day on one of Nate's usual speech therapy days. In order for our SLP to try and reschedule for later in the week, she has to successfully reschedule every appointment for the day that was missed into the make-up day's docket.
How is it fair, that my child's access to services is dependant upon another family's availability?
Is there something in IDEA that can help me out with this? This policy, which I am sure is a way to reduce costs, is wacked.
ETA: His second speech day of this week school was delayed by 2 hours due to snow. He didn't get any speech this week because of both of these issues.
Re: IFSP ? Rescheduling
I get that they are probably being "nice" regarding the makeups, but I am still annoyed. Why offer the make-ups at all then?
Andplusalso, if school is delayed 2 hours for snow, then anyone scheduled before that two hour delayed start time is screwed for services for the week, yet everyone else scheduled for that day gets services.
IFSP and it is written 2 30-minute sessions per week.
I am just annoyed and mostly needed to vent.
I did have to LOL at our service coordinator who has told her boss "you don't wanna mess with this parent". They are still owing us an OT re-eval which was requested back in early NOVEMBER. Nate will age out by the time they get their sh!t together...*sigh* I am just sick of having to constantly track the calendar and how people *should* be doing their jobs...
Thanks!
