I went for a routine eye exam yesterday, and of course Julian came up in conversation. You know, because I kinda like to talk about him
Anyway, I had no idea that they do exams on children this young, but the doctor told me they can actually look at a lot of things and it's a good idea to have them checked out before age one. I know he wasn't just blowing smoke to get more money either, because he offered to see Julian for free (my husband and I both use this doctor). When I scheduled the appt, the receptionist told me that our doctor is actually a specialist in infant optometry. Who even knew there was such a specialty?
I just wanted to pass on this info since I definitely would never have known to take him in this early!
Re: eye exams
Not eye exam related, but once I had a doctor's appointment and took Adam in the stroller because I had no one to watch him.
My advice, toyssnacks.....
Starbuck, I was wondering the same thing. I'm going next month and was thinking what am I going to do? I don't want to have to leave Ian just so I can go, but don't want to have to take him necessarily either. What I've done with other dr appointments is just taken the stroller. He's been really good about sitting while I've been "busy". I usually take some of his favorite snacks and put in the tray of his stroller and it usually buys me enough time. I'm hoping this works for an eye exam too!
We go back in May. She will probably get glasses then and I'm a teeny bit excited, lol!
I posted this a while ago but there is a program called Infant See that does free exams for kids between 6 months and 12 months (so it's getting close!).
We took Allison in January and it was easy peasy.
