  My dr cleared us to TTC after I got my first AF post loss.  Different doctors have different recommendations though - I have heard of some people being told to wait 2 or 3 cycles and some were told not to wait at all. (although usually those who were told they didn't need to wait had very early losses)

  Once I got AF we had to wait one full cycle. 

   

  

   

        ***BFP 1-22-13, baby boy dx with Trisomy 13 at 15 weeks.

  I got cleared as soon as I got AF

  BFP #1 - Mango - 6/11/12, EDD 2/22/12 Natural MC 7/15/12

  BFP #2 - Nacho - 10/14/12, EDD 6/20/13, MMC 8 weeks, D&C 11/16/12

  All testing shows both H and I are perfectly normal. Baby Nacho had triploidy. 

  Back to normal business December 2012

  BFP #3 - Froggy - 1/15/13, EDD 9/27/13 TEAM GREEN

  My first m/c was induced with cytotec at 7 weeks and I was told I needed to wait one cycle after I got my first AF. My second m/c was natural at just under 6 weeks and I was told I didn't need to wait at all.

  i did the day we confirmed that I had indeed miscarried. He said 2 months post zero. In all honesty now that I have had time to digest and think it sounded like a blanket answer for a first trimester loss rather than specific to me. But then again that was a hard visit and maybe it really was specific to me. I am not quite to zero but anticipate next weeks blood draw I will be. I plan to callback the office to discuss it but just wanted to see how much range there is doctor to doctor.

  I was 7 weeks with an empty sac measuring 5w 3d.

  My doctor said as soon as I stopped bleeding.  Unfortunately, I never stopped bleeding because I had a teeny piece of tissue stuck in there and had to have a D&C.  After that, she said again, as soon as I stopped bleeding. 

  BFP 2/22/12. Lost my perfect little girl due to a subchorionic hematoma (probable vanishing twin) on 4/27/12. D/C 5/22/12. BFP 8/21/12.

  I was cleared to try right away but I felt more comfortable waiting until after I had a following AF arrive. I knew it would be easier to date and I felt a bit more in control TTC then.

  We were cleared immediately after my first post-miscarriage AF. Both my OB and my RE claim that miscarriage is more likely if conception occurs before the first post-loss AF (something about immune response being stronger immediately following a loss). I couldn't find any studies that said the same thing when I searched online, but I trusted my RE.

  This. It took about 5 weeks. 2 weeks after HCG hit zero I think. Loss was at 11.5 weeks.

  After my first loss and d&c at 9 weeks I was told to wait one cycle. With my second loss( CP, we were given the green light to try again right away!

  With both of my losses (both at 6 weeks) I was told to wait 1 cycle before TTC again. 

  Then with this pregnancy, when I thought I was miscarrying again at about 6 weeks, my OB said that he wasn't totally surprised since I had only had 1 cycle between TTC and had been pregnant 3 times in 6 months.

  So he contradicted himself somewhat. Perhaps he was just looking for something to explain why he thought I was miscarrying again?

  I have always thought that the later the miscarriage, the longer one should wait, to give the body time to heal, and the heart.

  3 cycles.  It varies from one doctor to the next and potentially depends on how far along in the pregnancy you were, etc.  I agree with PP that if you got a recommendation you're not fond of, you should discuss the reasons behind it with your Dr.

  I've had two natual losses. The first one was at 5 weeks and I was told I could try right away. The second one was at 9 weeks but the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks then as well. The doctor didn't give me any specifics, but since it was also early, we didn't chart or doing anything to enhance our chances, but we also didn't prevent. I ended up getting pregnant again right after that m/c.

  
  CP - October 2011 (5 weeks and 6 days) BFP Sept 2012 (Round 3 of Clomid) M/C - October 2012 (9 weeks w/ no dev. after 5 weeks) BFP - December 2012 - Only 6 weeks after M/C!

  My dr told me to wait one cycle. However, I did get pregnant again before a complete cycle. I am extremely happy that I have a healthy baby growing, but I would still go by what your doctor said.

  She recommended that we wait a cycle (but only for dating purposes) but when I said I wanted to try again right away without waiting she said that she didn't have a problem with it.  We got pregnant that first cycle (with the current baby bean).

  The ER doc who broke the news to me (who was about 8 months pregnant herself) told me to wait 3 full cycles. The OBGYN I saw a couple days later at my follow-up told me that she said as soon as we were emotionally ready to try again, we could. She said in her experience, if your body is ovulating, it's ready to get pregnant. Since it was my first miscarriage she saw no reason for restrictions, but she said it would likely be a different story if I had lost more than one baby. More proof that every doc is different. We decided to try right away and got lucky after one cycle. Now we are just praying everything goes well this time around.
